Equip 2 Endure: Fail! Bear Grylls Parang Recall, Laceration Hazard!

www.cpsc.gov We here we go again, another problem with the Gerber Line of "Ultimate Knives" from Bear Grylls. Gerber is recalling the Bear Grylls Parang machete due to safety concerns in reference to a laceration hazard. A weakness in the area where the handle meets the blade can cause the handle or the blade to break during use, posing a serious danger. These Parangs were first sold in January of 2011. They were sold separately, and also as one of the products in Gerber's Apocalypse Survival Kit. If you own one of these Parangs, stop using it immediately, put it into its sheath, and contact gerber for a replacement!
